Meet The Team

Started playing football when dinosaurs still roamed the earth. Joined Yetminster Sports after an almost 10 yr break and it was always going to take a special club and team to make me put my boots back on!

I started as a forward and enjoyed several successful seasons in my early teens, regularly scoring. 

Over the years, I was fortunate to enjoy a number of cup and title wins, before being advised to hang up my boots due to recurring ankle injuries, just before turning 40.

If I could give one piece of advice to younger players:

Enjoy every minute, Take every opportunity given and play for as long as you can, you’ll miss it once it’s gone.

Always play with a smile on your face. Enjoy the banter, give everything for your team and yourself. You’ll be surprised how far a positive attitude can take you.

And finally: look after your body!

Hi my name is Brendan Mitchell, I have been playing football for 5-6 years on and off.

I support the one and only Nottingham Forest (someone has too!).

In my spare time I like to spend time with my little ones and partner, I also like to go fishing being the athlete I am 🤣.

I love playing for Yetminster Sports as we have the best group of people that make playing for them enjoyable.

Age 30+7 - Position Right Back.

I thought my 11 a side days were long over, but i've been tempted out of retirement to play for Yetminster Sports. I last played competitively for Yetminster Sharks, 7 yrs ago!!

Football is a big passion of mine. I've been involved within the game for over 30 years whether thats playing, coaching or going to matches. I currently coach 2 youth teams at Penmill FC. 

I'm a big Chelsea fan, and get to see them play a few times a season.

Outside of football, married (sorry ladies), with 2 young kids. I work on the family farm and im a regular gym goer.

Hi my name is Jordan Mitchell and i am 28 years of age.

I have been playing football on and off for the past 13 yrs and enjoy being on the pitch!

In my spare time I tend to go carp fishing and if I'm not doing that I'm watching football!

I'm a massive Chelsea fan and there is only one Cole Palmer 🥶

I'm Andrew Cunningworth. Knocking on the door of 48, I am one of the older players in the squad.

I've recently moved into the area and having stopped playing football over 20 years ago, when the opportunity came to join Yetminster Sports I jumped at the chance.

I am a massive Aston Villa fan and my all time favourite player is Paul McGrath.

Aside from football, I absolutely love live music and spinning the old turntables at home.

Hi all I'm Ross I'm 33 years young haven't played footy since under 16's I believe so it's been a few years.

When the Sports started up I was asked by a fellow player to come back and play. So here I am out of retirement doing what we all LOVE ⚽ ⚽ 

My spare time goes to my family of 4 kids and my lovely wife Kelly. Oh and all the animals we have. 

I'm also big into my carp fishing when I'm allowed to go 😜

Hello! I’m Simon, but you can call me Luke Shaw. Partly because I’m an attack minded left-footed left back, but mainly because I’ve spent most of my time at YSFC so far injured.

I grew up locally, and after nearly 20 years years in London and Brighton seeking fame and fortune as an actor and then filmmaker/videographer, I have returned to my hometown and viewed joining the club as an opportunity to make new friends and keep fit. Neither have worked so far, I’m still injured and they’re all horrible!

Outside of football I love a long country walk that involves a pub, and I’m a massive Manchester United fan. Films are huge for me too.

I’ll update this if my body ever pulls itself together, but in the meantime… Up the sports!

My name is Joshua Edmunds 33 years of age my hobbies are boxing and football! I'm a huge Man UTD fan I nearly love them as much as my little girl and my fiancé! I used to be mistaken for David Beckham when i was in my prime that was brilliant as he was my favourite player growing up! My spare time consists of raising my little girl and trying to get out the dog house with my fiancé Jazzy Jeff, If you don't catch me in the boxing ring or on the football pitch it will be running along somewhere doing the windmill

My name is Joe, I'm 26 years old and my biggest hobby is football, I've been playing football on and off since 5 years old, I love playing for the sports because of the opportunities I've been given to play in different areas and the trust put in me to continue taking all the corners for the team hoping to keep getting assists and helping the team win.

My name is Josh and I am 21 years old.

I have been playing football about 10 years in total but haven't played for about 7 years prior to joining the sports.

I've spent most of my time playing in goal with that being my best position however i will occasionally play at centre half if needed.

There's not really much more exciting things about me, but out of football i have spent 4 years doing an  apprenticeship with Volvo and I like to spend my time away from it with my partner doing many things that we both enjoy.
